We’re here to support and represent medical students who are also parents or carers. Balancing a medical degree with parenting or caring responsibilities can be challenging, and our society exists to make sure no one has to navigate it alone.
We’re a friendly community where members can share experiences, swap tips, and help each other through the ups and downs of student life. We work with other MedSoc groups to make sure teaching, OSCE practice, and events are inclusive for those with family commitments. We also liaise with the university to make sure our members know about bursaries, wellbeing services, and any extra support available.
Our mentorship programme pairs students in earlier years with those further along in the course who’ve been through similar experiences. We hold regular meetings and open sessions where members can talk openly about personal, family, or academic challenges. And, of course, we organise socials that are family-friendly, so you can bring the little ones along too.
